Janice Riley grew up in the small community of Gardners, Pennsylvania which is located just outside of Carlisle. She spent a lot of time “picking apples, picking up potatoes, weeding gardens, picking strawberries and trimming trees” on a farm owned by her grandparents.
It’s where she “learned how to maintain a garden and orchard, learned a work ethic and learned how to be effective and efficient all at the same time.” One such lesson was delivered by her father when she was about ten years old and it remains etched in her memory to this day.

Adam Bradley is proud and eager to share that he was born and raised in Maryland. “I’m a Maryland guy through and through. I think Maryland is the best state in the country. Everything about it – Old Bay, crabs, the water..”
He grew up in Montgomery County where he attended Watkins Mill HS. He and his wife moved to Frederick County about ten years ago and purchased a home.
They are the proud parents of Georgia, a toddler who is “absolutely incredible. We absolutely love loving on her, being with her and having her in our world.”

Earl Pindar was born and raised in California. He was a football star through high school but playing beyond that wasn’t in the cards. “Unfortunately, just like 90% of us out there that love to play sports, I got hurt and I couldn’t play football anymore.”
Looking for a new direction, he developed a passion for hairdressing. It’s a creative outlet for his artistic side and he gets to meet lots of people. “I love what I do!” You’d better believe it. He’s been a hair stylist for 27 years now.

Dr. Josh Funk recalls growing up in Germantown, Maryland “in a little bit more strict environment than most people.” His mother was raised by a career military man who retired from the Army as a Colonel. His father was raised by two educators — one had spent time as a Merchant Marine.
His parents were believers in “different season — different sport. I think I played just about every sport under the Sun. There were like nineteen sports growing up!” His siblings are all athletes as well, including his sister who played lacrosse at Ohio State.Continue Reading …

Jessica McHugh, the youngest of three, grew up in Hampstead, Md. in Carroll County. She loved being in nature and surrounded by the woods. She also enjoyed reading and using her imagination.
Jessica attended Frostburg to pursue theater. It didn’t work out as planned. She reveals that she spent more time on a new relationship with a boy than she did on her studies. “It’s kind of a tale as old as time.” She attended a few more schools before deciding to call it quits.
She candidly admits, “My parents don’t have all the money in the world and I was wasting it.” She recalls “kind of floating aimlessly” in her twenties until her passion for writing took over. Continue Reading …
