ENJOY THIS EPISODE:
From working in Biotechnology to owning The North Market Pop Shop, Michelle Schaffer’s background is far from ordinary. Her interest in The “Pop Shop” sparked when she was training to be a
tour guide for Taste Frederick Food Tours. It was a stop on the tour and as luck may have it, the shop happened to be for sale. She wanted a way into the Frederick entrepreneurial community and the Pop Shop was her ticket to success. Michelle realizes that soda brings people together, it’s an American experience and she’s passionate about that.
The North Market Pop Shop sells soda with a twist. It sells an array of soda pop (0ver 400 flavors!). It allows you to break out of your soda comfort zone, and try something new! You can even mix and match flavors to make a personalized ice-cream float; their ice cream is all-natural and locally made! But their goodies don’t stop there, they sell hot dogs, specialty drinks and candy! Their hotdogs are even up for a Best of Frederick award!
The North Market Pop Shop is sure to please. They’re located on Market Street! Stop in, find your favorite soda and see what the Pop Shop truly has to offer, all in the heart of Frederick.
More From North Market Pop Shop:
For the past five years, at the North Market Pop Shop, we have strived to provide our local community with the largest selection of glass bottled craft and retro sodas on the East Coast. Doubling our soda inventory with each passing year while also scooping up the best ice cream in town, just ask anyone!
We boast a selection of over 500 constantly rotating sodas. If that seems daunting, just ask one of our staff members for a recommendation; we want to help you find your new favorites! We offer mix match soda packs ranging from a 2-pack all the way up to a 24-bottle case with price breaks for the more sodas your try. We’ll even help you create your own customized float or point you towards your new go-to mixer.
Here at the North Market Shop, we make it a priority to provide our customers with the highest quality products and service, from our pure cane sugar sodas to our all-natural and locally made ice cream and all the way down to the biodegradable bowls and spoons they are served with. Stop by the most environmentally friendly ice cream spot around!
Owner Michelle Schaffer is a Cambridge University educated biochemist and runs the shop like her own little lab. We form hypotheses about what could be delicious, test them (over and over) and share our results with the community! Michelle truly cares about each individual aspect of her customers, employees and store, which is why we serve only products with the best ingredients and make green choices to ensure our shop is as sustainable as possible. So please, don’t forget to recycle your soda bottles!
