“Healing is the application of love to the places inside that hurt”
Eric Wakefield has lived an eccentric and exotic life, holding more than 50 jobs and finally finding his niche with On Our Own, a recovery house and peer support community. On Our Own is a
place for people who find themselves in distress and can come in and be comforted and supported. Eric is an advocate for those people in need and puts importance on making connections within our Frederick community.
He was inspired to join this community and become an advocate, owner and director, through his own hardships. He never graduated high school, and found himself between a rock and a hard place. He was in and out of therapy and various psychiatrists, and finally found his place with On Our Own Recovery House. Eric has made an impact in the lives of many and a lasting impression within the Frederick Community.
