Episode 003 of Frederick Advice Givers features Mike Haggerty a senior loan officer/mortgage consultant with Presidental Bank Mortgage. Mike dispels the myth that all buyers need 20% down payment to buy a home and explains that there are some very competitive, low down payment loans available today. Mike explains how interest rates are now credit driven with the latest government reform, so having a higher credit score can help in today’s market. He even talks about some local grant programs that are available to get buyers in homes for very low down payments.
Having been with Presidential since 1993, Mike has seen the ups and downs of the lending industry and interest rates. Mike is a live long resident in the DC Metro area his commitment to the area, his clients, and his company is rooted from a deep family commitment. Starting his career in the Bethesda office in 1993, Mike still is located locally focusing on the DC Metro area. His expertise is helping clients find the right financial fit with client’s long-term goal. Mike and his wife Roz moved from the DC area to Frederick in 1998 and still reside locally. Stability is key for Mike as he is loyal to his company and this shows in his business as his customers are loyal to him with 98% of his business being repeat/referral.
Presidential is a regional mortgage company that processes and closes their own loans. What this means to the consumer is that you have the personal feel of a local bank but the availability to offer the loan products offered by the national banks.
Mike comes from a large family with 7 siblings and is the 7th of 8th children. Mike and his wife, Roz, have 4 children of their own ranging from a senior in high school to middle school. As you listen to the interview it is evident that Mike comes from a strong familial background and this has transferred to his mortgage business and his commitment to each client and finding the best fit for their family needs.
When borrowers and home owners reach out to Mike about their mortgage needs they can be assured that he will look at their entire financial picture to make sure that they are matched with the best loan product available.
