ENJOY THIS EPISODE:
Amy Goldsmith’s passion for healthy eating, nutrition, helping others started at a young age as her younger brother had food allergies and her family took to healthy eating. Amy, being a voracious reader and studier, read all she could get her hands on about learning about healthy eating and the benefits of being a dietician.
Having grown up in upstate in New York, Amy, being an older sibling to a younger sister and brother knew at a young age that she wanted to help others. This ultimately led Amy to Virginia Tech and then to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to further her studies.
Amy worked out of Hopkins and then later at Washington Hospital Center and working in the Oncology and GI units. She eventually made her way to research and sales with an infant formula and home medical equipment company but she always continued to consult clients on the side as this is her true passion.
Amy has a love of sports and ironically met her husband Carl playing Flag football in Baltimore. He the quarterback and she the receiver, it was love at first pass. They have 2 children, Michael and Emerson and live just outside of Frederick.
After 10 years of working for others, Amy, with the support of her husband took the plunge into owning and operating her own practice 6 years ago. Building her business the correct way, by customizing each plan specifically for each client her business has exploded and she recently hired another Nutritionist to help support her budding practice.
